Messy is the word

My old blue walls have recently been given a fresh coat of Lilac White paint. Feels brighter and more spacious.

And after weeks of "packing", my room is still... well, unpacked. I really need to take ONE weekend to organise everything (and throw some stuff out). I need to fix my shelves up too!

i think also becoz i'm not in the fashion field

Matyu says: (12:45:40 AM)
but just the dressing, i feel strange. (but i think also becoz i'm not in the fashion field)

Matyu says: (12:46:14 AM)
the dress and the black pants lah

He was referring to this photo when he said the above. He thought I was wearing black pants?! They are stockings, dearie! And yes, he's using lahs (and lors and lehs) like a true-blue Singaporean!

Can't wait to see you in May, dearie!

2010 Handmade project

I've decided. I'll be hand-making most (if not, all) presents this year! Can't wait to get started!

The "New Vintage" Life

Love that there are so many interesting things to look at. And black walls!

Lovely Prints

Awhile back, I bought this print for myself, and an extra copy for Desmond, just because he's a traveller and I know he will surely like it:
These prints are all for sale in Singapore at a shop called Cityluxe, with branches at OUB Center and ION Orchard. I really love these two prints, especially the LES CHAMPIGNONS one; but they were all sold out! I've put my name on the waiting list, let's hope they bring em' back.

Sticky Stickers

Whenever I see really cute/colourful/silly stickers, I can't help but buy them. So over the years, this impulse has amassed to quite a collection. And one day, I hope to be able to design a set of stickers!

My most recently acquired ones, a set of 6 Korean stickers in kids' drawings style:

Probably my current favourite, because it has a combination of some of my favourite elements - mushroom and rainbow:

I really like these too, for the bold colours, neat lines and the type of art:

My $3 cheap thrills

My latest buys! They were on sale at only S$3 each, from SIX accessories store, City Link. Like each and every one of them very much. 爽!

Gang of Ten

TEN, 十, sib turned up for the outing yesterday. It was good to see everyone, and I'm glad everyone made effort to turn up despite their busy work schedules!

We had Korean food at Meridian and headed to Starbucks at PS for what else but good old coffee and chit chat. I went trigger happy and took close to 200 shots (which really scared Desmond). The PIN HOLE function was really nice; the effect was perfect for that evening.

The hand-covering-face action was in MOST of the photos. We were making fun of Ericia (not pictured here at all), who is very good at covering her face with super fast speed when the camera is on her.

The rest of the photos can be viewed here.

PS: Love the new Facebook uploading function; took me no more than 10 minutes to upload all 190+ photos.

New Year Resolution

The past year has passed by in a blink of an eye (I always think that at the end of every year) and I am glad to say that it has been a great year. Sure, some events that happened during the first half of the year might have been far from good, but in a strange way, it eventually freed me and open MY doors of happiness.

I have a healthy family, a cute dog, an amazing (and super, super cute) boyfriend, awesome friends and super colleagues. What more could I ask for? I think it's almost safe to say; I've never been happier, I've never felt free-er.

Still, I've always been quite a fan of making lists, so i'm gonna list down my resolutions; just for the heck of it.

Emily's 2010 Resolutions
1. Be happier.
2. Get back in shape, without sacrificing good food. Heh.
3. Treat my family better.
4. Indulge myself at least once a month with anything, anything at all.
5. Do not take work home (at all)
6. Take good care of my appearance
7. Love more (myself and others)

Hmmm, it's not much of a list to make because for the first time, I really feel happy with absolutely everything about my life (except feeling fat, haha, women!). But it sure doesn't hurt to have it better.

HAVE A HAPPY 2010! (A really happy one!)

Yummy Mulberry

Punggol and Pretty Shoes

I was happy with my outfit and verystraighthair and was in the mood for some snapping action. So, I took random shots on my short walk home from Punggol MRT Station.

And here, I share with you what I saw on my way home, in this very order and totally untouched by Photoshop (save for the resizing, of course):

I took these using the auto function and I am totally proud of my shoes and I have to say it again, really contented with my camera.

Bangkok Day 2 - Platinum Fashion Mall

Me, Mathias and the 2 English gentlemen headed to Platinum Fashion Mall for some serious shopping. We took a cab there together but split up at the mall. When it we met again, both the guys emerged with hands full of shopping bags, while I had a only 1 pathetic shopping bag - 2 tops, 1 pair of shorts, a penguin brooch and some notepads.

No cabs were willing to take us back to our apartment (always the case) because of the terrible jam. So the 4 of us hopped onto a willing tuktuk for 180baht and that was the beginning of a loooooong and uncomfortable journey. The 3 big guys could barely fit the main seats while I was left to sit at the side on the floor, right in front of Mathias.

I was armed with my Lumix 3 and along the way whenever the tuktuk stops for a traffic light, I would snap. You can almost guess the how long the journey was by looking at the colour of the sky. Estimated journey time was probably 1.5hours. When I got out of the tuktuk, my legs were jelly.

Bangkok Day 1

Meet my row mates (on the plane) - Mark and Duncan, the dudes from England. They were in Singapore for a 1 day stopover. I started a conversation with them when they were frantically flipping through some guidebook of Thailand and looking really lost. Turns out, Mark (the chubbier one) is a plumber, and Duncan is a Product Industrial Design fresh graduate (who made some of the props on Sherlock Holmes!) and they are childhood friends who've decided travel Asia together.

We shared a cab back to the area where I'll be staying and I helped them get a room. They have no plan or schedule for their entire trip, no clue where to go and no idea what there is to do. That's what I call spontaneity (or craziness).
Of course, I had to meet up with the gang and eat my favourite Gai-tot gratiam leh kai-dao (Fried chicken with garlic and egg). Everyone was reallllly hungry because I made them wait for Mathias to go eat together. His class ends at 8.30pm and by the time he made his way back, it was 9pm. That was also our first meeting since I landed.

Photos taken with my Panasonic Lumix 3.
